Create a Lead

Where can I create a Lead?

Updated over 2 months ago

Creating a Lead in Saleboat is the best and fastest way to add a company to Saleboat before you contact them - all you need is a name and a phone number or email address.

Leads are unqualified - you don't know if there is an opportunity to do business and you will need to qualify them and convert them into prospects.

Please click on the button below to be redirected to our training video on Creating a Lead:

How to add a lead:

A lead can be added by using the Plus Button or Create.

Using the Plus Button:

Press the Plus Button and select Lead.

Fill in as much information as you have - You must have a name & some form of contact information.

This is what the create a lead form looks like:

You will need to fill in, at minimum:

- lead name
- either a phone number or an email address.

You can add an address too, if you'd like to, but it isn't necessary and can be done when you've qualified them and are converting them into a prospect. Leads with addresses will show up on your app customer map.

If you think you know what the opportunity value of this lead could be, fill this in too.
If your manager has set a standard list of sources to choose from, you may also select one of these.

You can click on MORE to the right of the form when you're done inputting all the information that you have.
This will have a few more options for you to explore:

If you have this information, even better!

You may now input a contact name, and some notes (whatever you think will be important later).

You may even assign the lead to another team member within your organisation.

Using CREATE +:

Press the CREATE + button, underneath Today's Stats.

This will open the same create lead form as the plus button, it's simply another way to create a lead.

Once you are done completing the form, you may click on CREATE at the bottom right of the form to create the lead within Saleboat. This will add the lead to your leads dashboard.
